Taylor Locke
Lead singer & guitarist

Taylor Alexander Locke was born on August 5, 1984 in Santa Monica, CA.
Taylor is the son of producer Peter Eric Locke and Karen Locke. He also has a younger brother named Dexter.
Being the natural musician and co founder of the band Rooney, it may not surprise you that he started playing a stringed instrument at the age of 4 – That’s when he picked up his first ukulele.
He attended Crossroads School, where he bonded with fellow Rooney member, Louie Stephens, a pianist/analog synth player. Taylor Locke is a kick ass musician who is a great and invaluable asset to the band.
Locke plays a “TV yellow” Les Paul. His musical influences range from 1960s pop and British Invasion (the Beatles, Zombies, Rolling Stones, Yardbirds, etc) to 1970s rock and hard rock (AC/DC, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Queen, Alice Cooper, Sweet, Slade, Steppenwolf, ELO, The Raspberries, Badfinger, etc ) to 1980s pop/metal (Def Leppard), to 1990s grunge (Nirvana was his first love), to modern pop (Shania Twain…or anything else that Mutt Lange does). He is also a big fan of Weezer and Elliott Smith.
Taylor has also been known to play with the band LoudLion in the past and more recently you’ve been able see him play with Bleu at various clubs in LA.

Taylor is a busy man. Lead guitarist in Rooney, who’s preparing for the release of their 3rd album - Eureka - and lead singer in Taylor Locke & the Roughs + various other side projects. We can’t wait to see what the future brings for Taylor.
